I used to feel the same way but now I really don't care anymore. But I do think the "best" ones are subtle ones that people will only recognize if they already know the series.

(also I get tired of the "you'll regret it later" remark because, AFAIK, even if they do, aren't tattoo removals are "a thing" now...)

They are, but it costs a lot and it's quite painful, AFAIK. I'm also not sure if they can completely remove all of the ink.

I think the fact that tattoo removal parlors ARE such a big thing now is evidence that most people will indeed regret it later.
