Where I get upset is the idea that, while probably not preventable, it was delayable with better actions on my part. So in that regard, I'm disappointed in myself. And am I upset that I didn't feel like anyone was really helping me get going in the right direction? Yes. But again, the root of it is on me, for not taking my own initiative when it became clear the only preventive advice my doctor was giving was, verbatim, "watch your carbs and exercise."
And that's upsetting. Maybe not for you, and that's great, but for me? It is.
EDIT: To be clear, the upsetting part about "people misunderstand!" is not that "people just don't get it." It's that I apparently can't make myself clear enough.

Okay then. :(
