Also, if you've got the space in your living area, I like setting out the things I'm going to pack in a corner or on the floor a day or two early, just so I get a visual reminder of everything I'm bringing (and have a greater chance of noticing that something important is missing before I get to the airport.)

Oh also also, no idea if it is necessary for you but if there is ANY chance AT ALL you will need feminine hygiene products, that should be the first thing in the bag.

I'm doing that now, but man it looks like such a mess! And...I'd have forgotten tampons, too, thank you!
