LOLOLOL SHIPPER BAIT DON`T GO THEREHowever. Did it ever occur to you that a lot of people find Near cute BECAUSE he is heartless, evil and mean?^^* Seriously, that´s my favourite part about him. He amuses me to no end when he makes fun of Takada and Misa being in love with Light and going "Oh. Yeah, whatever. Next!" when half his people die. He brings quite some dark humour into the series and I like that. And I think that´s also something that connects him and Mello (and would probably result in not being bored with each other). They´re both ruthless and morbid. That´s why I like how they play off each other.
Also, it´s always kinda insulting to tell others they didn´t get a series.^^ Especially since Death Note is NOT that hard to get.
And um, who thinks that Mello is "sexually obsessed" with him in canon, or did what he did for love? I don´t think you need that for wanting to ship them. It´s mostly about liking their dynamics. That has nothing to do with canon.
Matt and Mello as a pairing have nothing to do with canon either. As have none of the ships in DN fandom except Light/Misa, Light/Takada, and the cops and their wives.
Honestly, not liking or getting a pairing is fine. There are like 946386545 fandom ships that I don´t get. But that doesn´t mean that those who like it are delusional.

"Dieser Staubsauger ist nicht unbedingt besser als Marke XYZ, aber sehen sie nur, wie gut er sich der Hand anpasst im Griff, auch wenn er etwas schwerer ist, aber haben sie mal daran gedacht, dass gerade DESWEGEN viele Leute ihn mögen? Nicht jeder möchte, dass die Kinder zuHause den Staubsauger durch die Gegen schleppen... und haben sie gemerkt was für einen angenehm blumigen Duft er versprüht...)Darum mag ich M/N-zeuchs auch nur wenn du es schreibst oder Tirol es zeichnet *grummel*

Alternate career plan FTW. <3Aaaaah, I love M/N vs. M/M wank, it always brings the lulz. ;D Actually, I have no problem at all with people not liking/shipping Mello/Near, I mean, there´s a lot of pairings that I hate. Buuuut people should just drop arguments like "canon" and "Mello/Matt makes more sense". Because seriously, fanon =/= canon, and there´s no manly romance in Death Note at all. XD
And yes, Matt is very cute, but he DOES not have that much personality. :P

Hm, I never said, that M/M is canon, lol, because yeah, there's no gayness in DN *rofl* but.... IF we start talking about what is or could be canon and what not, then I would totally stick to M/M is more canon than M/N is ... I mean... do you know how I mean this? *lawl*
Yeah, sadly he doesn't. It's the fans who made him into somebody and you know what? XD I love the fans for this! XD~ They happily resolved what Ohba fucked up *lawl*

Weeeell I think Matt/Near COULD work on a certain level because they´re both antisocial, hate outdoors, and like to play, and maybe the struggle for Mello´s attention COULD resolve in UST but asdfkkjhgkl what am I saying you could basically make ANY ship work in DN and I don´t even ship Matt/Near.
Hn, I don´t accept that whole "but Mello and Matt would work better" argument, because even if it´s clear that Mello doesn´t hate Matt, there´s not even real proof that they are really friends or anything, you know. And Mello and Near share a strong intellectual connection. But I think both can work.
Well, fanon Matt. I´m really torn on that. Some versions I like, some not. If we´re talking "cool, sarcastic, laid-back, chain-smoking hacker Matt", then I´m totally with you, much love, but if we´re talking "Mello´s sappy clingy whiny lapdog", I hate that guy. XD

o m g ........ no, jzst no! lol, Matt/Near could never work, imho, because there's absolutely NO interaction between them, I just think it's SO funny, when ppl write fics about them or draw kissing pictures of them, because I'm always like: "haha, lol, what?" when I see those... I mean, it's like I would draw Ryuuku and Misa having hot smex - that wouldn't make sense either for me, even if they're "hanging around" a lot *lol*
well, when you wanna make two charas fall in love with each other, then they must like each other first... there's no liking with hate. So before Mello and Near could love each other, they have to like each other and that only works, when you make the hate gone before... and Mello don't hates Matt.

Since Joey and YGO I really, really HATE it, when ppl write that chara XY is chara AB's doggy and he's following him like a dog his master *bang!* that's so annoying, geez! (It's okay, when he follows orders and is more comfortable with this than giving orders and stuff, but please not the dog-thingy X_x )
of course I meant the "cool, sarcastic, laid-back, chain-smoking hacker Matt" *lol* but lately I'm all into Neema's Matt.
I play him and worship him, whenever I have the time for ♥♥
