Welcome to Sweden

(Anonymous) 2014-07-17 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Has anyone else tried this? When I first saw the title I was scared, decided to give it a try since I realized Amy Poehler's producing it, and thought it was okay - the pilot episode wasn't overly impressive, but are they ever? I think it could be promising. It definitely didn't give me any "lol non-Americans are so WEIRD" vibes, but rather, seems to simply draw the differences between the two cultures.

Thoughts?

For the meatballs. Also, how dare you. The Swedish Chef has the most magnificent moustache. He makes his felt viking ancestors proud.

You idiot. Anon above is making a joke about the friendly rivalry between Denmark and Sweden.

And I care about Norway. :)

Okay, really, did anyone read the text under the subject?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
OP here... I'm talking about a TV show. Not some weird anon thing.

I think nobody knows what show you're talking about but they wanted to make a comment anyway. Sorry.

[personal profile] caecilia 2014-07-18 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
all of those replies seem to be to the first anon who commented, not to your original post. which...sorry. again. if it makes you feel better i've posted a lot of threads that went completely ignored?

OP again - ah, yeah, it's fine, I was just confused by the comments that had nothing to do with my comment.

Fuck Sweden, Finland is better.

But seriously, I haven't seen the show.

I saw the title and I was like, "Whhaaaat?" What is the show about? Don't know if I want to watch it. I haven't even seen promos or anything for it.

Random and useless sentence: I always associate countries with football players I know that are from that country, so when I saw that I was like, "LOL Zlatan Ibrahimavic."

Which is not even a Swedish name. Probably from somewhere in the Balkans?

His dad is Bosniak and his mother is Croatian, but he was born and raised in Sweden. As a player, I don't care much for him, but as a person he's pretty badass.

"lol non-Americans are so WEIRD"

I hate that vibe. Although to be fair, I generally hate the 'lol non-(insert nationality here) are so WEIRD' vibe too. People are different! OMG! FFS.
