Yeah, I'm sure that to some extent many people's tastes are shaped by their own culture, but that doesn't mean you won't ever like something completely new. But you won't know if you don't try anything because you just think it's weird!

Squid and pineapple was pretty good. I got it at the Vietnamese restaurant.

I also like escargot, which seems to be the go-to "nasty" food that someone will accidentally order if they end up in a French restaurant without knowing how to speak French (meaning that this trope would not likely happen in real life, because by now most people know what "escargot" is even if they aren't a French speaker).
