Thanks for the advice.

I don't really have many people to talk to in the fandom, I guess because I don't post in the tags that much and I'm not as obviously enthusiastic and fannish as other people.

Was thinking maybe I will at least let my beta know I'm having some difficulties and that's why it's taking so long to update.

I have similar problem, so don't listen to me! =D
It makes writing sound like a duty... I think they'll appreciate the heads-up in any case. Maybe your beta'd even have some advice.
Another thought, read some bad fic and see that yours is worlds better.
