Re: Is having an active fantasy life harmful?

I may not be the best judge, but I do think that daydreaming is better than, say, a panic attack. Or a suicidal episode. Because that's what daydreams do for me. Allow me to redirect those unhelpful emotions into something less destructive, or even productive. So in that way, my daydreaming is most certainly improving my quality of life.

If I focused exclusively on my reality, I'd be even worse off. Unless somehow you think concentrating on pain and a body that doesn't work right makes richer and fuller? All I know is that I'd rather be up and communicating with others than lying in bed, curled up in a ball. At least if I'm up, I'm creating something that others can also enjoy (fanfiction, AMVs, and the like).
