(Anonymous) 2014-07-18 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)I sometimes find these more interesting than romantic relationship because shipping is so commonplace in fandom and romance is so commonplace in mainstream media, that friendship feels kind of refreshing.
Beautifully put. This is EXACTLY why I hunger for gen-friendship fic. Like you, though, I find that it's very rare. (Aren't most fandoms heavily shipping-oriented, BTW? All of mine all are, but I don't know if that's truly typical or not.)
