Depends. One of the things with confederate uniforms [or hell, talking about the Civil War in general] is that no matter what you say someone is going to take it the wrong way and throw a massive fit over it.

Ex. The people who are southern apologists will throw a massive fit if you imply the antebellum south wasn't a wonderful awesome place. At the same time, pointing out that the Union army wasn't exactly knights in shining armor/there were people in the south who weren't all about the slavery you get called a southern apologist.

So...outside of a reenactment setting, something that's touchy and probably best avoided.

tl;dr: A very touchy subject that's best avoided for the most part.
