I think a lot of it is humorous? Like, the 'calling her queen every five seconds' stuff, it's a joke about how popular she is. People just like her music and her sense of style and her persona. I guess it's weird but we live in strange fucking times.

Mm, I don't know, I personally know several people who are about one step away from literally worshipping the woman. I thought it was a joke too, but when I insinuated that I wasn't that huge a fan, they really descended on me, it was scary.

No, a large number of her fans are rabid and scary. See: Keri Hilson getting Beyonce CDs thrown at her or the hate directed at any other famous person who dares say anything that could possibly be construed as negative.

I like her, but I do think that people take it way too far with the worship and adulation. It's like, it's great and all that she says and does cool stuff and that you like her for that, but she's not some grand divine goddess from above gracing us lowly mortals with her majestic presence.

I have no opinion on Beyoncé beyond knowing that she exists, but that is a very pretty image. The colours make it look almost like an alien planet.

Her music isn't even very good. It's generic.

That's a VERY lovely image, indeed.

i think it's because she's the only true diva and singer that's going to be an actual icon in 20 years of her generation. that and stanbases are extra crazy thanks to social media.

Compare her to some other megastar pop divas, like Madonna. Beyonce has had a solid career for over two decades without hiatus, hasn't had a massive PR debacle, and is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Unlike some Western female celebrities, she presents a public image of power, versus other public images like the empty-headed bimbo (Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry), or out-of-control party girl (Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha). It's refreshing to see someone whose main attribute is her fierceness be so successful.

Yes, her music might be generic pop/R&B, but music is not the leading factor in what makes a celebrity.

Every celebrity has over the top fans. A lot of other people, like me, just like her music. You just see the crazies because they're the loudest.
