(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 02:00 am (UTC)(link)(Also, this fucking band drove me crazy when I wrote my capstone paper because whenever I'd google for the Decembrists - the Russian revolutionaries - and it fucked up my spelling because Google would say, "Do you mean the "Decemberists"? Eventually I gave up Google and just stuck to library searches and databases. Another thing that drives me crazy about this band: the Decembrists weren't fucking communists, they asked for a goddamn constitution, so when I read the band's explanation of their name, I just about ripped my hair out. Sure, they inspired some socialists who came later, but all they wanted was a constitutional government like modern Europe.)
