Re: National Stereotypes

The British stiff upper lip and our love of queueing seem fair.

A lot of other stereotypes about Brits I abhor.

Yeah, I was in London - admittedly, not represent of England (and a huge city, which tends to bring on its own culture), but... neither of those things seemed true to me? If anything, people in queues were just as rude and impatient as they are... anywhere else basically, and no one we encountered seemed stiff. The latter also doesn't seem true of my British online friends. So yeah, I don't get it. Maybe people think England is still in the Victorian era?

... actually, I think people DO think that. Yikes.

You're not wrong about the Victorian era thing.

Oh i didn't mean we enjoy queuing. Not at all. We just... have complex unspoken respect for queuing. It's a subtle thing I guess. Reserve's a subtle one too. I don't know hhow to put it into words. We're definitely a reserved nation when it comes to private matters anyway.

AYRT

... I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about stereotypes that weren't true.

I think I know what you mean about being reserved. :)

No worries. I don't think I phrased it all that clearly. :)

I think you need to make something worth queueing for. You can guess what for me.
