(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 07:29 am (UTC)(link)No, you don't understand, the 'N Sync song is just kind of silly and pop-y and absolutely not meant to be taken seriously, which fits with my view of Firefly - entertaining, but a little ridiculous and definitely not the greatest unfinished sci-fi/western/adventure story some people seem to think it is.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-20 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)I'm gonna go with yes, more so than 'N Sync (and I like 'N Sync and their music, but this song, Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Yay), it's just, well, see for yourself - http://www.lyrics.com/space-cowboy-yippie-yi-yay-lyrics-nsync.html). After a certain amount of time, songs take on a sort of cultural cache and I think at least some of the Steve Miller Band's songs have.
