I agree. I definitely think the BBC version is the best overall, but there is a lot about the 1940 version I like, particularly the actors. Laurence Olivier was Darcy. And I've always loved Greer Garson's Elizabeth, even though I understand the argument that she was too old for the role. And yes, Frieda Inescort as Caroline Bingley was absolutely perfect.
