If you'd like more detail:

"If you genderswapped a thing, a thing would be true." is not really a topic for general discussion so much as an obvious attempt to get a reaction from people. More so when anons obviously jump in with "real feminists" vs "man hating tumblr feminists" vs "MRA" etc etc. A really, really obvious setup.

As I said, if legit, and anon wants to talk about abusive relationships in particular animes that would be perceived as abusive if only the genders were swapped, they can do that! They'd have to actually say that, though. And not do the above.

That thread was not about Woody Allen, it was inviting people to say names of celebs they suspected were an actual pedos. A number of other people were mentioned. It was libellous, flat out.

Yeah, it kinda does. A complaint to DW could get the comm shut down, and that would not need to come from the celeb. You'd also be surprised as to who reads what. And FWIW, it is also morally wrong to accuse someone of being a pedo without proof.

There's kind of a difference between a person saying "I'm worried that someone might have been involved in this child abuse ring and I'm glad they haven't been connected to it" and "hey everyone! let's all get together and accuse random people we think are child molesters."

I really hope you can recognize that.

Only difference I can see is that the first one is worse. "I'm glad a child molester will get away with is" Is far worse than calling out suspected abusers.

The secret in question wasn't calling him a sex criminal, they were saying they were glad he wasn't a figure in any of the investigations. That is a big difference.

It was an interesting way to look at how differently our perceptions would change if we shifted the gender of our protagonists. Just because radfem anon came in to try to shift over everything doesn't mean you should give in to sjws.

I am that anon. It wasn't framed in an obviously inflammatory way, the conext was completely clear to 90% of people replying, it was just direct which is the most effective at making us consider things rather than three paragraphs of fluff.

Not really. It stated a thing, then didn't state any context or frame of discussion for it. It wasn't direct, it was a dead end. If you wanted to get into how more abusive relationships in particular animes that would be perceived as abusive if only the genders were swapped, you could have said that, but you didn't.

Case in point: most of the replies were "yeah, ok, we know, so what?"
