The implication being you need a romantic relationship to be happy? Or does "nobody" count too?

I got the impression that OP didn't mean "ship" in a strictly romantic sense (even though that's usually how it's used) but rather that OP is interested in whatever relationships make the character happy, even if they are completely platonic.

You know what? I agree. I dislike fics about unhealthy relationships that don't eventually fix the unhealthy part. I don't mind a pile of pain in a fic as long as the pain eventually ends and the fic ends with things being happy.

I suppose in the end, I want happy endings, and if it's a romance story, I want the romance to leave off with a note that implies that it is happy.
