Unless it's a particularly dirty floor or particularly sticky food item, if I drop something on the floor and I'm on my own, I generally will just pick it back up and eat it, regardless of how long it was on the floor before I picked it up.

I do this, but only with stuff that has a skin that can be pealed off or washed. Mainly fruit. No use in throwing away an apple just because it fell on the floor.

Same. Sometimes it feels wasteful to just throw it out when I have a working immune system.

Yep to all of that. Especially if it's my floor, because I know exactly how clean I keep it. Why waste still perfectly good food?

I've heard that if this is in your own home, any germs on the floor are likely already in you anyway, because you can't help picking up bacteria from the environment you live in.

Eh, I'll do this anywhere. I've literally eaten off the street before, because that churro was expensive and I doubt I'm going to catch a disease from car tires. :P
