That really, really depends on your definition of "friend".

I have three right now that I consider "close" friends. Many others I'm not as close to, ranging from "friend who I really enjoy hanging out with, but don't know as well as my closest" to "friendly acquaintances".

I'm a people person. I've only ever been close to a couple people at a time, but I like having lots of acquaintances and being with crowds.
