My opinion with all I've seen of the artwork for the new Sailor Moon has nothing to do with the original. It just looks awkward, no matter the coloring and animation quality. The positions, the anatomy, all of it. I was all for the new show, but I can't pick it up because it makes me twitch.

Same. I was initially really excited for it and then I watched the first episode and the animation was just BAD. It felt like they didn't even try.

It's the ridiculously conspicuous CGI that gets me - that and Serena looked like she was trying out for a porno in the latest episode (what with her writhing and moaning).

did you see the new video for Moon Pride? It showed new footage and the CgI senshi were so fucking creepy. The stuff out of nightmares.

What? Besides the opening bit, SMC's animation isn't good by anime standards either.

There are plenty of anime with good animation. SMC is not one of them.

For reference: Fate/Zero, FMA Brotherhood, Guilty Crown, Gankutsuou, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain. Go look any of those up on YouTube and then compare them to the animation in SMC.

FLCL too, it's essentially six episodes of the the industry's best animators. Redline too.

And I wouldn't reccommend for the plot, but Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta.

And pretty much anything by Kyoani or Dogakabo.

Oh, and Gurren Lagann obviously.

Also everything made by Ufotable. Also, stuff made by Bones tends to have great animation.
