You don't have to feel bad about it, OP. Plenty of people do things like that for favorite characters, or whole canons.

LotR was my first fandom, really, and I took up archery, learned to make something akin to lembas (scones with nut flour! so good!), and started learning Quenya and Sindarin.

Celebrate your passions, and don't feel bad about it!

I used to speak Elvish in high school (and then got in trouble because I was doing that instead of actual schoolwork), and then after Snape died, I sewed his name (in green thread) on a black armband (which my father encouraged me to wear out in public). Not bad for a Hufflepuff, eh?

Absolutely. Back in highschool my friends and I celebrated the date of Second Impact by having a party where we consumed tons of instant ramen. I can definitely recall having days to celebrate fictional character's birthdays and the like. You never know, you may have goofy buddies who are as into this as you. :D
