What are we supposed to do? Crucify her for bringing in some anti-depressants into South Korea four years ago?

I think the issue is more that non-celebrities who did the exact same thing as her have all gotten harsher sentences, starting from at least 3 years jail time. People want consistent treatment.

True, but a lot of the reasons the company tried to cover it up is likely due to the fact that they wanted to avoid a scandal in the first place. Having Bom serve jailtime would probably have killed her career. It's not just a case of celebrity favoritism.

...but that IS favoritism, isn't it? People who got caught for the same thing had their own careers and livelihoods at risk too when they were given harsher sentences. Those people actually don't have the sources to get away with it as she did, and that's the unfair thing about it.

If it is as big of a deal to this pop star, I think she's better off advocating for South Korea to take mental health and medication more seriously. Tell her story now that the cat's out of the bag, instead of letting her managers and label try to cover it up.

But then again, I've heard how the Kpop industry works and we all know why things went the way they did and will continue to be. Let's be real here.

The story how I've heard it from every single person who's talked about it goes: her parents sent her anti-depressants that are legal in US but illegal in S-Korea. Since they didn't know that they got into trouble. As far as I can tell it was a misunderstanding. And I honestly believe there's no way Bom would be a smuggler. She also had a very good reason for needing those pills, she just didn't know that she couldn't possess the particular ones.

I don't care. If she wants to do drugs, whatever. shes not hurting any one, and tbh getting mad a musician for doing drugs is like, so many of them do drugs. I couldn't care less.
