Nothing? What would it say about you? I don't like zombies (and all thing zombies). The only thing that says is I hate zombies. You hate things that attack children.

All those pictures are nightmare inducing. I would think anybody who is afraid of those things is right to be so.

I dunno, they scared me as a kid because they're creepy as fuck. Well, except the Coraline one because I was much older. But thanks for reminding me about Pennywise after I'd suppressed him out of sight? lol

What a selection. Roald Dahl, James Cameron, Neil Gaiman and Stephen King.

... What does it say, I wonder, that Dahl does not look at all out of place in this line up?

Have you read 'My Uncle Oswald'? Dahl would not look out of place in any lineup. The man had range. :P

I seem to remember a horror short of his being featured on the Creepypasta wiki. Forget what it was called, but it was about this kid who goes to a creepy-ass bed and breakfast, and it freaked MY shit out.

The one where it turns out the landlady ends up taxidermying her pets and customers? It's in one of his short story collections: Either Tales of the Unexpected or More Tales of the Unexpected. XD Both collections are great though. :)

Argh, Roald Dahl did not write exclusively childrens' fiction. And even when he did, it could be creepy as all get-out.

I mean, the man wrote the wonderful Lamb to the Slaughter.

They're supposed to be. They're supposed to feed on your primal, visceral childhood fears.

+1

I watched almost all of these films as a kid and It and The Witches are literally my favorite movies ever since I first saw them. So I kind of have to wonder what that says about ME. xD (Probably not coincidentally, but later on on my teen years, Dahl and King became two of my fave authors. Bonus: Dolores Claiborne is my absolute fave King book. Yeah, there seems to be a screwed up pattern there.)

Well thanks for that surprise nightmare fodder secret. I'll go whimper in a corner now.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-23 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That's pretty normal.
p.s. I love Coraline. I've only read the book but I was really young then and I had tons of nightmares about it oh my god my whole family was creepy. Now I embrace the chills horror creates.
