haven't seen people being treated as less for not liking them, but otherwise I agree

"wow they're such assholes but we love them anyway"
"how are cats even real"
"babies"
"they totally dominate us"
+ associating everything with cats. Suddenly dragons are reptile cats, cats are magic users etc.

It also bothers me that their haughtiness gets idealized so much compared to dogs, while some cat owners are in fact giddily behaving like the stereotype they have for dogs: with reverent, "stupid" loyality.
Makes me wonder how fandom treasures more or less assholish loners with a heart of gold vs trusting, friendly behavior.

When I started to live with a cat it was totally okay. It's practical that you don't have to go on a walk with him, that's his biggest advantage- and I love him like every pet with its own mannerism.

I don't dislike cats - I like pretty much all animals - but I have seen some similar stuff too. I've seen self-proclaimed cat people look down their noses at dog people because dogs are mindlessly loyal or whatever and dog owners must be needy? And cats are so great because they're independent and obviously you're a more secure person if you own a cat.

I've seen it on this comm.
