Fairly self-explanatory. Numbers = economic power

Want more media representation? Then out of the closets and into the streets with you, darlings.

I still have no idea what you are talking about. Are you saying bisexuals are just 'in the closet'? Or are you saying its bisexuals faults that even when we come out as bi people will calls us gay/lesbians?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-23 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
No, they're saying that it's all them silly gay's and lesbian's and bisexual's fault for not setting some producer's car on fire because of the lack of representation in a TV-Show.

Yes, of course that's what Harvey Milk meant. Idiot.

(Anonymous) 2014-07-23 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
What are you even talking about?

(Anonymous) 2014-07-24 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought it was more of because majority of viewers actually watching the show might be homophobic or in other ways discriminating and won't watch a show that has minority of any kind. Because that is business and the harsh reality of making shows.
"We can't possibly have a bi character, otherwise we'll lose 50 000 viewers and never win them back."

I know so many cases where people have stopped watching a show or don't even bother "because that one character was gay and it grossed me out".

It WOULD be better if show biz portrayed more sexuality versatility but they can't risk the audience. But, if we're lucky, enough shows coming up with such stuff would convert the audience into thinking having sexual minorities on TV is normal - which it is in real life.

How the hell do you know whether the people in this thread are closeted or not?
