I found it grimly funny -- in a "you did not think this through, did you?" sort of way -- that the writers of a show with a famously rabid and frequently weird fanbase decided it would be a good idea to write an episode whose central message was "No, really, stalk the people who create the stuff you like. It'll be great!"
