The show (sometimes, it's inconsistent in this as all things) likes to push anti-vamp discrimination as parallel to real world sexism and racism, but when the show then goes and has literally every single vampire character kill at least one person over the course of the series, you start to think maybe regular humans have a very valid reason to fear them.
