Clever. :)

Yeah, I feel the same, OP. I liked the show enough to watch all of it, but I wasn't invested in it overall or ever felt strongly about it at any point. Which was strange, because it's the type of show that is right up my alley.

It's pretty far from being a perfect show. I think I kind of like it more for some of the imperfections, but it probably does get hyped too much.

OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE NO TASTE. I love this show but agree it's flawed. The overall plot is amazing. You've got love everyone's character arc.

Ah, that image feels like home to me. ♥
But I realize a big part of my feelings for the show have to do with nostalgia. I have no perspective on how it would look to a new viewer in 2014.

Oh yeah, nostalgia all the way with me. *g* I'm not sure I'd have the patience for it now...hm, on the other hand - Dale Cooper! I might stick with the show for him, even as a new viewer now.

I think the show is great but it definitely can have a slow pace and some things about it could fall under "revolutionary for it's time" (though there aren't many shows like it, even today.)

I don't think it's a show for everyone, it's just one of those stories that got so much buzz around it that most people end up checking it out.

I'm watching it now (I have like 3 episodes left, the whole cooper/nun thing made me super mad) but I remember when I started it. I was expecting like, murder mystery plot with some supernatural shit but mostly grounded in logic and reason. HAHA nope. I spent the first season being like, "why is no one going to the police" and "why is everyone going along with coop's crazy shit" before learning I just needed to quit caring. Now I just groan whenever there's an extended make-out scene.

Yeah, I love what could have been but I don't love what it actually was all that much.

It was weird and quirky and very atmospheric.

But there were some things (plot points, characters, etc.) that didn't work all that well. And it sort meandered and sometimes lost its way, like someone trying to lead you to that perfect campsite in the woods they came upon once upon a time and when you get there you're not sure there's anything all that special about it (and you think you might have passed by it twice), but you got to see a lot of pretty scenery along the way and also got to see some strangely interesting stuff that you would not have if you hadn't followed.
