That'd be super cool! Though keeping the cast would be pretty difficult.

No, they would recast the whole thing. Like how they did with Spider-Man. You had the first run under Raimi and Maguire and now you have the current run with Webb and Garfield.

Really, in my ideal world, they'd just immediately start making the first movie again whenever they finished the last one.

I would think this would be less of a problem than for the movies.

Because if they started with kids that were the right age (9-11) and if they made each book a season, the kids would age exactly like the characters.

Maybe an animated series? That way they could use the same voice actors in the children's roles, just digitally manipulating their voices to make them sound right for the character's age.
