yup. i have a friend who is right into figure skating fandom and follows it all the time, while i become a huge virtue/moir fan for a few weeks every 4 years. she doesn't really care that i can't tell the moves apart, she's just excited it's on tv and happy to answer questions because she gets to talk about the thing she likes with people.
