Pretty much this. That being said, "what if s/he's gay/straight/bi/asexual" isn't really enough to move a plot on its own. But assuming that the fic had some sort of plot to it other than "ruminate on my lack of sexual interest for anything," it could definitely be interesting.

That being said, I hate wingfic and A/B/O, so I suppose we all have certain "what ifs" that we hate.
