That was nice...

It's a little negative today at the ol' F!S watering hole. I think it's the heat. (At least for those of us in the US and Europe.) Don't forget to hydrate!

So, to bring in a little positivity I ask you two questions;

What was the last nice thing you saw someone do for another person?

What was the last thing someone did for you?

It doesn't have to be big. Just nice.

One of my tumblr mutuals is broke, and their BFF, being in a different state, ordered them pizza <3

My own BFF read my own fanfiction aloud to me when I accidentally ate a piece of pie containing butter and couldn't do anything other than lie in a flower bed (we were on a trip, and we didn't have any actual literature atm - besides, they wanted to read this fanfic anyway).

I saw a young girl carry the bags of an older person all the way up this big hill for them.

And idk, my cashier was very friendly today when I was at the grocery store. She was trying to help about four people at once since it was one of the self-checkout multi-lines; it looked very stressful. :(

Someone who came to my office randomly helped another who was on crutches and struggling a bit with them.

At the grocery store recently, this woman let me go ahead of her, despite the fact that she had already emptied her cart onto the conveyor belt. She saw that I had less than her (I was only picking up a few things, so I was just carrying a basket) and insisted that I go first.

My mum agreed to go to a climbing park with me next week although she's a little afraid of heights.

Yesterday I saw lots of those little nice things throughout the day, like someone giving up their seat on the bus for an old woman and another helping a young woman get her baby carriage out of the same bus.

Yesterday I also managed to drop two eggs on the floor while shopping and the cashier was so cool about it and gave me a new container and didn't make me pay for the other one. He was so nice, and something I really appreciated as I was quite embarrassed myself.

Last nice thing I saw someone do was help a mum get her buggy off of a bus, it wasn't especially busy but someone helped her out anyway.

My bf bought me little box of dice from the last card game tournament he went to, he didn't have a particular reason to he just saw them and thought I'd like them(which I do since they're purple).

My dad made me a batch of my favorite cookies. No special occasion, just because. :)

What was the last nice thing you saw someone do for another person?

Had to see a foot doc yesterday, and a woman had brought her mother in for an appointment; they had come to the wrong place. She wasn't sure who her mom had an appointment with, but the receptionist called the nearby foot doctors until she found the right one, confirmed her appointment and gave her directions to the office. It was nice.

What was the last thing someone did for you?

Do presents count? (They should!) Yesterday I got an amazing belated birthday present from a friend. It contained an arrow necklace (sort of like the one Nat wore in Winter Soldier), 22 nail polishes (it was like the gift that kept on giving because I just kept finding more of them in all the wrapping paper), a small compact with eyeshadows and lipgloss and an adorable Hulk zipper or cell phone charm. (Not sure what it's for, actually, but it's cute and I need to find somewhere to put it.)

Oh, and the cashier at Target told me my makeup and lipstick were beautiful. It totally brightened my day.

I got a chocolate chai last night at Starbucks. It's been off the menu for a month or so, but they found another box of the concentrate in the back and the barista made sure to tell me because she remembered that I used to order it all the time.

The last thing someone did for me was that my older sister ended up with too many fries from lunch and drove over to my house to give me some. She's probably the most thoughtful person I've ever met, so she's always doing things like that.

The last nice thing I saw somebody do for someone else - it's not humans, but I have a little gray cat (an old girl) and a little white kitten, and my old girl was cleaning my white kitten. It was pretty sweet of her, since she's pretty cranky.

Other things are - my niece broke her ankle while her mom was at work so my sister and I went over to help her ice and wrap her ankle till her mom could get home, my dad helped me with some car troubles over the phone on Friday, and my younger sister made me dinner.

A couple weeks back I helped an older customer at work who had a kinda difficult transaction that took a while to finish up. He came back a couple hours later and brought me flowers because he said I'd been so patient and hadn't made him feel uncomfortable for taking so much time. Really made my day.

Today at work a little girl complimented me on my nail polish and then told me I had good customer service. She looked about 6 or 7 years old. It was so sweet, especially because I was making an effort to be nice to everyone despite my boredom and my simmering irritation at my manager.
