Re: How do your beliefs line up with your parents?
Politically we are also quite similar: mostly lefty socialists. Though in the past few years I have noticed my parents having somewhat outdated opinions on some social questions (like gender, sexuality, etc.). It has been a little weird to discover, since usually we agree so much. But their views on homosexuality for example are in large parts made up from stereotypes, it is really strange. They are not hostile (they support gay marriage, believe and equal rights, don't mind me being into girls at all (they joke about liking my girlfriend more than me)), but in some conversations they just generalize an awful lot.
