Oy....

TBH I think this mindset is immature. I mean it's a little better I guess that OP doesn't make little notes saying "review or I won't update".

Then again maybe I am resentful of that mindset because I update when I can and I hate to have people assuming I'm doing this when I take a long time to update (when it's really because I struggle so much to focus a lot of times)

OP I know it sucks when people don't give you a certain amount of reviews, but the hard truth is that nobody is obligated to give reviews. and honestly if you are only updating the story because it gets you reviews, that kinda sounds like a motivation that's bound to give you nothing but frustration and misery.

Try finding an idea that gives you joy to write. If you try writing what you love and enjoy the idea then you'll be less likely to be disappointing.

I don't think people assume that happens. I mean, since I write now, I understand that time gets away, that other things become important, that you might just have writers block.

It works both ways too... I have been getting quite a lot of negativity recently, and that, more than no reviews, makes me feel like not writing!

That's true. I just saw a thread above that was like "this is why I don't read WIPS" it bothered me because I though "um a lot of WIP fic writers don't do this"

But the ones that do manage to paint a brush on the ones that don't, sadly enough.
