I liked the midseason finale too but it also felt like a good place to leave at. I considered picking up again here and there but I kept hearing about what was happening and it made me make the turn to eventually just ditch the series.

I might have picked the series up again if that mid season finale had sparked a major change. Rumple actually dieing permanently (he's the best actor on that show but they've more then overused him) and the series tone changing a lot would have been things I'd want to see.

But the writers aren't as interested in story as they are ratings pandering, so I don't see things getting better.

Rumple staying dead could've been a really interesting thing to work with. But alas, they brought him back and sacrificed Neal as a consequence. Such a disappointment, they could've done so much with Neal.
