In fairness, Monica was created in 1982 and became leader of the Avengers in 1987. Phyla-Vell was doing her shit in the mid-2000s mostly IIRC. I'm just saying that fandom has changed a lot since then, even since the mid-2000s, and I don't think there's any reasonable expectation that people who've come into fandom since then should have to be familiar with everything in the history of the genre.
