nayrt, and I don't agree with the "pathetic" assessment, but believe it or not, yeah, this is exactly what I do with my fics. Maybe I'm the odd one out, but I don't write them for myself, I write them because I want to share them with people. I would never hold chapters hostage for reviews-- I mean, there's a huge contingent of readers that simply don't review, and that's fine. I'm writing for them too.

That's what I do. It's also why I leave my older fic and art up even though I might not like it that much anymore - because there might still be people who will see it and enjoy it even though I personally don't think it's that good.
