I never said you should soldier on when nobody cares. I said OP should think about why they do it.

What makes you assume they haven't done so already? Your take is that if they stop and think, they'll come to the conclusion you think is correct, namely to stop treating reviews as payment for writing. I pointed out that there are other reasonable and logical conclusions other than yours, so there's no need to assume that the OP is in the exact same position as you.
