Re: genres you only enjoy in certain formats

Yes, it still counts if it's also science fiction or alternate history. I mean, it's exactly what my dad is best known for writing and I'm still not into it.

I have a significantly harder time following a story about wartime strategies/diplomacy, battles, or front-line-life stuff in the written form. I don't really know why. That sort of thing needs a visual element to hold my interest. I do better with Home Front stories, but that's usually due to the lack of military tropes.
