Hm, that's interesting...because with something that seems kinda monotonous and time-consuming like knitting or crocheting, if I happened to not like it, I can't imagine spending any real amount of time doing it. There are other things I could do that would make other people happy, but that would also make me happy.

It's not that I particularly dislike it either. I'm just pretty neutral towards it so it's a good way to keep busy while I'm watching stuff so I don't feel like I completely wasted my time when I could have been doing something productive. I have issues about feeling like I wasted time.

Although the satisfaction I get from it often works row by row rather than only coming after I finish a project, so that could be interpreted as me liking the process.

I knit & crochet while watching the telly.

=.= The scarf I made for my mother cost me three seasons of supernatural.

Oops.

Sorry to jump in so late here, but... I don't knit/crochet, but I do other types of needlework. The actual process isn't terribly exciting. I don't dislike it (though it can be really tedious if something goes wrong) but like sarillia said, it's more a neutral activity. The end product is what makes it worthwhile. I make things to sell or to give to friends. If they didn't sell or my friends didn't appear to like it, I might still do needlework, but I'd be doing a lot less of it and nobody would even see it but me. That's a somewhat apt comparison to fanfic writing, IMO.
