THANK YOU!

Seriously, she spends all of her time & energy trying to ruin Snow's life because of a "mistake" Snow made when she was eight. This is a grown woman who grew up with an abusive mother who blames an EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD for confiding in an emotional abuser known for manipulating people to get what she wants. I mean, Regina herself bent to Cora's whims because of what happened when she didn't. She knows how Cora can be, and yet she places the blame of a murder that CORA committed on an eight year old child.

Oh, and I will never believe she loves Henry. Her "love" for him does not redeem her. She named her child after her father. You know, the same father whose heart she ripped out because he was "her most loved possession" or what the hell ever. I have no doubt that in the same position in Storybrooke, she'd rip Henry's heart out too. That's who Regina IS.

(And I too have liked problematic characters over the years. I'm in love with Peter Hale of Teen Wolf as a character. Or I was, when I was still watching. Fuck if I know what shit he's getting into now.)

Yeah, the blaming Snow thing made zero sense since not ten minutes later in that same episode, we saw Regina fall for her mother's manipulations herself. And she knew what the woman was like and had experience dealing with her.

It kind of creeps me out how Evil Regals try to portray her as the show's One True Victim and Special Snowflake. There's nothing wrong with loving a villain, but the way they constantly make excuses for her actions makes me wonder if they do that in real life. "Yes, I beat my brother over the head with a baseball bat, but it was HIS FAULT because MOMMY DOESN'T LOVE ME ENOUGH."

Heh. My first crush was Todd from OLTL back in his "terrorizing Marty" days. I'm dating myself.

Regina's just one of those characters who find it easier to blame others than to accept responsibility. (Although in this particular case she clearly should have been blaming Cora. I can appreciate that a relationship with an abusive parent would be complicated, but considering the lengths she went to in attempts to destroy Snow's life, I find it hard to believe she couldn't muster the courage to kill Cora when she had the chance/wanted to.)

Frankly, I don't understand how people can like any of the characters on this show (I like Snow, and I like Prince Charming as an extension of Snow because he makes her happy. Other than that, I like Grumpy & I like Anton the giant. The rest of them either bore me or are assholes. That's a big problem with this show for me- so many of my beloved Disney characters are assholes.)

I can't say I'm familiar with One Life to Live, but I like learning a little bit more about you, Anon.

Of course she did try to kill Cora on a few different occasions (Actually maybe it was only one. I can't remember right now) which meant I had no sympathy for her when Snow finally did the deed. Regina just strikes me as a fundamentally weak person. She has no coping skills, so she just turns around and pins the blame on the closest person who's weaker than she is. She's the magical equivalent of the kid who gets kicked so he goes and sets a cat on fire so something else feels worse than he does.

I liked Snow a lot before she decided not to execute Regina in that one flashback. Setting her free to go live in her castle and torment her prisoners was a crap thing to do for the people even if it made Snow feel nice to be forgiving.

I love Anton too! I like a lot of the minor characters like Whale and Abigail and Mulan and Aurora, and I love Rumpel and Belle, but the rest of the main cast? Bleh.

Yeah, deciding not to execute her was stupid. I get that Snow feels indebted to Regina for having saved her life when she was eight, but considering the number of times she has since tried to take it and the people she's killed for getting in the way...well you think the novelty of that first good deed would wear off.

And don't even get me started on how the show tried to make Snow's murder by proxy of Cora a "moral event horizon." Regina's pissed because Snow killed her mother? Cora killed Ava, Cora killed Lancelot, Cora's killed a shitton of people, Regina's killed a shitton of people, and the Grimm Brothers' Snow killed her stepmother by inviting her to the wedding and having her dance the night away in shoes of hot coal. Ugh. This show has such bullshit black & white morality that drives me batty. And then Snow was chastised for slapping Geppetto? I'm sorry, I think she was justified considering he'd just told her that he was the reason she never got to be a mother/Emma was raised an orphan. (Which ESPECIALLY drives me crazy because even as Jiminy advised Geppetto against that decision, Geppetto blew him off because of how Jiminy had deprived Geppetto of his parents and was therefore in no position to judge him. Yet...by doing what he did, Geppetto kind of made himself & Jiminy equal on the "screwing over a totally innocent kid, depriving them of parents" front.

I didn't find Mulan or Aurora compelling, though I wanted to like them. I like Whale in so much as I ship him with Snow, actually. Idk, I find it super sweet that she called him after a one night stand and that compelled him to send her flowers? (I also kind of ship Emma/Gold(Rumplestiltskin), so really I'm doing this show all kinds of wrong from a fandom perspective.
