Yes, I know. That's why I said "I'm not saying money was their only motivation, but it was a big one-- otherwise quite a few of them would need to do other things in order to pay the rent."

I don't see where we're disagreeing. The fact that a lot of writers have other sources of income doesn't at all contradict what I said about writers having different motivations for what they do.
