I think because there's a creepy guy is a pretty valid reason.

Unless they only think he's creepy for being dressed as a woman. I like the movie, but I could understand being creeped out by Dr. Frank N. Furter. Because he is creepy for a multitude of reasons (creating Rocky for himself, killing Eddie, seducing Brad and Janet as Janet and Brad, serving Eddie's remains, slapping and chasing Janet, capturing everyone and making them perform).
