Re: so about Korra

My opinions on both Seasons 1 and 2 were "started out great then took a nosedive", so I don't know how relevant you might consider my opinions.

I will say that some of the characters are even more shortsighted now than they were in the previous seasons (though hilariously enough, it's Tenzin that's most guilty of this - Korra is actually getting wise).

Apart from that, though, the show has really hit its stride. It's definitely got a great ATLA feel to it - traveling around the world on a mission, getting to know and follow the villains as well as the heroes, etc. - which has helped it immensely, and gives me hope that it won't take the same nosedive previous seasons have.

One of the best improvements on the show are individual characterizations and various relationships. They are well-developed, and they feel real.

Hopefully making it sound good without spoiling it too much:

Mako is "used to be an asshole" awkward - he's still awkward about what he did, the other characters are moving on and dragging him with them. Asami and Korra are best friends and total badasses together (and Mako is brought up but not at all a barrier to their friendship). Bolin is still sweet and fun, but yes he is also into chicks - in a very entertaining way to watch, now. Also, a lot of the shifts and changes in the brothers' relationship from the last season are still around - Bolin isn't Mako's little brother anymore, but just his brother. (It will make more sense when you watch it, but I can't really elaborate more without spoiling).

Also, like I said, we get to see the villains. On one hand, they are fucking terrifying badasses with an even scarier goal/mission. On the other hand, they are also totally adorable with each other, fun to watch, and generally have a great relationship.

And if nothing else, Zuko's back and we get to learn more about Toph as an adult. ^_^

Which reminds me...
