What threw me off the most about those movies was how suddenly, you were able to clearly see that everyone was wearing wigs. I mean, you know that they are all wearing wigs and fake noses and ears and everything. But it wasn't so obvious when everything was a little more... blurry, for lack of a better word. The Lord of the Rings movies looked better in that department, despite being a decade older.
