If a guest walked into my kitchen and said, "I'm sorry, but I'm really hungry -- I'm just going to have one of these," and snatched something off a serving plate, I'd be nice about it, apologize profusely and speed up dinner as best as I could, but... I'd never invite that person back ever again. Because jesus, were you raised in a barn?

I should add that I'd never throw a dinner party with no appetizers unless dinner was going to be served within minutes of the guests' arrival.
