Doodle, doodle, oodle

(Anonymous) 2014-07-28 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I am going to be dogsitting a Labradoodle and a Goldendoodle this week and next week.

What are the funniest dog-combination names, in you opinion.

The Doodle ones are kind of fun to say, but Cockapoo is probably the worst.

Puggle is kind of strange. Yet somehow i've been calling my dog that for years and she's not either a pug or a beagle.

Does your dog resemble a baby echidna?

Hmm *looks to double check* no. She's a black lab mixed with something because apparently they're not supposed to be this tall.

Aww!

But really, "puggle" is also the name of baby monotremes, i.e. echidnas and platypuses. It always depresses me just a tiny bit that smush-names for dog breeds has gone and stolen a really cool word from the rather unique animals I once had to do a research project on in primary school.

Oh! That's interesting. At least now I know the point of origin!

I've petsat a goldendoodle before when he was a puppy! The last time I saw him, he was huuuuge.

The funniest I can think of is the schnoodle (poodle-schnauzer). Adorable dogs, though.

Apparently my chihuahua/dachshund rescue mutt is a chiweenie. I alternate between finding that terrible and adorable.

When I was a kid, I had a Scottie/Rhodesian ridgeback mix. He was probably a little more than double Scottie sized, but looked *mostly* like a scottie with unruly fur and a really broad chest.

The poodle/shih tzu cross is called a teddy bear, I think. At any rate, it's not called a shit-poo.

We always called my Shih Tzu/Poodle cross a shit-poo (or occasionally, a poo-shit). It was what she was, and what she did. :-D

Never have I ever heard the term 'teddy bear', but we'd still have called her a shit-poo. She was the best shit-poo ever; I still miss her.

What do you get when you mix a cocker spaniel, a schnauzer, and a poodle?

A cocker schnoodle doo.

My dog is a Coton de Tulear/Westie mix, so my dad likes to call him a Westicon.

Someone needs to breed a Coton de Tulear and a Puli so the resulting puppies will be a Coton/Puli Blend.

...I'll show myself out.

My dog is a cockatzu.
