I think you should ship what you want and not let others opinions deter you.

I don't ship them, but I see where people get it from. I don't have anything against people who do (that would be dumb).

As for Rin being unpopular, idk. I'm not too into the fandom side of things but from what I've seen he's still pretty well liked. He irritated the hell out of me last season, but I'm liking and enjoying his character right now.
