You've never wanted to watch a show uncritically for whatever reason? Because it's eye candy or it's entertaining on a surface level or it's Tuesday and that's the day you let yourself take things on board without critiquing them? It's a thing people do. Especially if fandom is their happy place. It's not necessarily a sign of rabid fangirlism.

No, I watch a lot of shows/movies and don't read the criticisms. I still love Overboard, for example. But I think there's an important difference between NO NO PROBLEMS HERE NO and HAS PROBLEMS BUT I'M IGNORING THEM SO I CAN LOVE IT ANYWAY. OP is clearly of the first camp.

Oh my God, Overboard is the best! I love that movie so much.

(But again, only while willfully ignoring that only the '80s could've produced a movie with what is in actuality a totally squicky premise and has canon rape through false information.)

Exactly! :D There are a few other movies like that too, that I love despite knowing they have issues. I think it's normal.

OP

I'm not denying that there are very valid criticisms being made about the show, and those criticisms will be made with or without my voice. I'm just done with seeing it.

I already take note of the problematic stuff while I'm watching. I'm not blind to it, I just don't need to see hundreds of posts tearing into the same thing over and over. I don't want to forget why I like the show.

And oh man, I love Overboard.

That's a completely valid way to enjoy the show, then. :)
