Half Dutch, yeah. It's definitely more common with my Dutch friends, so you might have a point. Also some of my Belgian friends (I live there), but a lot of those I have from film school and art schools in general are sort of...different that way. To give you an example: it wasn't uncommon for straight male teachers to greet by kissing each other on the cheek there. Though I hear that's also just a Brussels thing (apparently this was common at my bf's last job, too).

I'm just so used to cheek kissing even with people who aren't even such great friends.

I think a lot of mainland Europe is more physical than the US or UK that way, anyway, but it's even more pronounced with my friends.

Honestly if it's wrong I don't want to be right.
